The Gherkin, il “cetriolo”, è una torre fatta costruire dalla società di assicurazioni Swiss Re su progetto di sir Norman Foster e inaugurata nel 2004. Su richiesta (e ad un prezzo molto alto) si possono organizzare ricevimenti nel ristorante dell’ultimo piano che, dall’alto dei suoi 180 metri, regala una vista a 360° sulla città. The Gherkin è comparso anche in alcuni film famosi. L’edificio è famoso per la sua audace architettura.
