Fort George fu costruito nel 1729 dai britannici e il suo nome è in onore del re Giorgio I d’Inghilterra. Il suo scopo era quello di proteggere le coste del nord dall’invasione di navi nemiche, infatti si trova sulla penisola Titchfield che si protende nel mare dei Caraibi. Durante la seconda Guerra Mondiale il forte fu utilizzato come base di addestramento dalla Marina Britannica, mentre adesso la caserma ospita le aule di una scuola pubblica.
