Lo Stadio Nazionale di Singapore è stato aperto nel 2014 in sostituzione dello stadio precedente, ormai vecchio e insufficiente. Il nuovo stadio è stato pensato per ospitare diversi tipi di eventi come le partite di calcio, cricket e rugby, gare di atletica ma anche concerti, festival ed eventi cittadini. Infatti presenta un tetto a cupola retraibile e il livello più basso della tribuna motorizzato per essere spostato e configurato in maniera ottimale.
