Prende il nome dal castello di Fillongo in Garfagnana, su cui la famiglia falabrina, che in questa via aveva le case, esercitava diritti feudali. Oggi è la via più animata e frequentata della città ed è per questo considerata il “salotto buono” di Lucca. D’andamento tortuoso ed irregolare è’ ricca di esercizi commerciali e di antiche botteghe che ancora oggi vi si affacciano.
