Inaugurata nel 1892, inizia nelle vicinanze della Chiesa di Gries. Voluta e realizzata da uno studioso di botanica, è stata concepita come un percorso scientifico. Rappresenta una meraviglia botanica, grazie alle condizioni termiche particolarmente miti della zona ed alle caratteristiche del terreno a base di porfido, che accumula il calore estivo e lo rilascia nei mesi freddi. Ciò consente la bella vegetazione di piante mediterranee ed esotiche.
