L’Agorà Romana è la piazza del mercato e fu costruita dall’Imperatore Augusto nel 19 a. C., diventando in breve tempo centro amministrativo e commerciale al posto dell’Agorà di Atene, situata qui vicino. Ha forma rettangolare (circa 111×98 metri) ed ha due porte di accesso, quella ovest e quella est. All’interno dell’Agorà Romana sono sorti diversi edifici tra cui la famosa Biblioteca di Adriano, la Torre dei Venti ed una Moschea.
