L’edificio religioso, situato in pieno centro storico di Bergamo Alta, a ridosso della rinomata piazza Vecchia, è dedicato a San Pancrazio, giovane cristiano martirizzato all’età di quattordici anni. La chiesa risale al XV secolo, è stata infatti costruita intorno al 1450 e consacrata nel 1474. All’inizio del ventunesimo secolo ha subito un profondo restauro.
